FAQ

Anyone who knows me, knows I love asking questions!
Here are some answers to some common questions that you may have in mind.
If you cant find what your looking for please contact me and I will do what I do best!

How and when should we secure your services?

Time is always of the essence when you are looking for wedding services, so let's chat! We can have an informal meeting over the phone to check my availability with dates and times. Once we have had a chat and you feel comfortable with me, lock me in! To secure a booking, a non-refundable deposit of $200 is required, once received by me (Celebrant) a confirmation of the booking will be with a paid invoice, and a new balance invoice will then be issued.

What will be the first step we take together?

We will make an application together which is a Notice Of Intention to Marry (NOIM). This must be provided to me (the celebrant) no later than one month and no earlier than 18 months before the ceremony. This will require an official witness either being an authorised celebrant, a justice of the peace, a barrister or solicitor, a legally qualified medical practitioner, or a member of the Australian Federal Police or the police force of a State or Territory. As I am an authorised witness, filling out the NOIM together is made simple in this meeting. You can download this document for your reference from the Attorney Generals office using this link.

What do we need for our first meeting?

Please look at the information below which will help you prepare the legally required documents you will need to bring with you for your celebrant to validate. These documents are required for official identification purposes and must be accurate across all the marriage forms and will be kept private in line with The Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

Proof of Identity Documents:

An original Birth Certificate (or official extract) or
An Australian or overseas passport (cannot be a canceled passport) Can be an expired passport if issued on or after 1st July 2000 with more than 2 years validity; that has not been expired for over 10 years.
Drivers License or
Proof of Age Photo Card or
a Certificate of Australian Citizenship & an additional photo ID not listed above.

Additional Proof of Name Documents:

If you are widowed or divorced you will need to provide evidence such as a Death Certificate, court-ordered Certificate of Divorce, Decree Absolute, or Overseas equivalent.
If you are under the age of 18 you will need the following orders and consent: a judge or magistrate has made an order authorising the person to marry a particular person of marriageable age (over 18 years) and the required consent (e.g. parental, guardian etc) have been given or dispensed with.

Do you travel outside of Sydney?

Absolutely, I love destination weddings! This just needs a little planning together.
Any travel and overnight stay requirements outside of the Sydney region will need to be booked and paid for by the parties.

I will guarantee you are the only wedding ceremony booked for this day.

What parts of the ceremony do you customise?

Pretty much everything can be customised to suit your style of wedding. There are some mandatory legal vows and words that I must say to legally marry you but other than that we are free to create to ceremony of your dreams!

What happens if we need to change or cancel the booking?

These things happen! Let me know as soon as possible if you need to change dates so I can check my availability.
